About Us

We started Homeward Press as an extension of what we were already doing through Gather & Grow Ministries: helping families to build their own family economies, to work together, worship together, and learn together. We do this through events on our farm, a quarterly print newsletter and speaking engagements all across the country. Publishing books that encourage families homeward was the next step.

Why a publishing house?

It probably goes without saying that in a day of digital media and instant-everything, starting a publishing house seems a little... behind the curve. But despite the fatal prognosis affecting most of the publishing industry, we think there’s still reason to believe in the future of books.

“Government rules the present. Literature rules the future.”
— LORD ACTON

We live in a day where truth is being silenced. Creating a publishing house is a forward-looking solution to the writing on the wall. Our vision is to impact the culture with a whole body of work that speaks to the family economy and makes it a practical reality for more families.

This includes creating literature that speaks to the beauty of marriage, the significance of family, and the hearts of the fathers. Henry and the Great Society is only one book, but as our first book it symbolizes a shift toward a different future that we want to build.

We named our publishing house Homeward Press, because, in a word, ‘Homeward” is where we’re going, and what we’re about.

“Recognizing that the noise of our modern culture often stands in direct opposition to the family, we opened up Homeward Press. This is our way to get impactful stories and motivating writing into the world that will awaken, inspire and encourage families homeward.”
